In 2018, Dr. Lisa Littman, then serving as an adjunct
assistant professor at Mount Sinai, introduced the
concept of Rapid Onset Gender Dysphoria (ROGD)
in her influential 2018 parental survey report. ROGD
characterises the situation where young individuals
unexpectedly identify as transgender without any
previous history of gender non-conforming behaviour.
In this presentation, Dr. Littman will revisit ROGD five
years after her initial publication, drawing insights
from her 2021 study involving 100 individuals who
have detransitioned.
