How To Make Gun Powder! (Black Powder)

Описание к видео How To Make Gun Powder! (Black Powder)

In todays video I am making Black Powder from the Ancient Chinese recipe!

ERRORS AND MORE INFORMATION ↓

I'm aware the intro is from a "how to make an intro video". That's the joke.

I mentioned potassium nitrate is used in fireworks and explosives but it
actually isn't really used in many explosives. I just said that as I meant other very similar compounds are. I'm also aware I spelt "Potassium" wrong. I realized this before I published but it was already exporting.

Sucrose and Glucose are both in sugar. I didn't say that very well.

The chemical equation I put in isn't exactly correct. Nor is it incorrect. There are a lot of different ones for black powder. Please forgive me if anything is wrong.

So the whole bit about potassium nitrate being hydroscopic I had to edit out because it sounded bad and annoying which is why it may seem like there's a lot of cuts in there. Basically potassium nitrate draws in moisture and I have to bake mine in the oven pre to making black powder otherwise it won't work. Only one youtuber I found who mentioned this (TKOR) and I was surprised to find that almost every source on google says KNO3 is NOT hydroscopic. Please tell me in the comments if that is incorrect.

I used a steel splatter screen as a mesh. I cut out a lot of the clips when I used this.

The tube experiment actually worked off cam but it didn't work on camera sadly. Normally it goes super fast. I like how mine was transparent though. It was almost like a rocket motor if I plugged one end!

My black powder was not perfect and honestly pretty bad. Black powder is also made normally on a pan and you add water to dissolve all the ingredients but I didn't do this as it's a MASSIVE fire hazard. Proper black powder has no residue as well. Watch chemdelics video as he makes it better (with a ball mill) and is my inspiration.

And yes YouTube! Unless I make and store above 12kg or sell it commercially this is totally legal where I live.
