「ピアノ楽譜 / Piano Sheets」星屑 / Stardust (クドわふたー ED/ Kud Wafter ED)

I wanted this song to be my last arrangement for summer due to a couple of reasons. First, this year is the VN's 10th anniversary(?) and is actually getting a movie to be released on September!

Additionally, this song in particular is special to me and is one of my all-time favorite songs. I first heard the song in a Key Songs Medley around 6 years ago. Among the songs in the medley, this song's melody and key points really caught my attention (especially at 3:58 - 4:12 and scale at 4:28). I wanted to play the VN but it was in Japanese so I actually took the effort to learn Japanese (especially grammar) and brute-force my way in reading the VN by using a dictionary for every verb/noun I don't know (in retrospect, the VN was too fanservice-y for me and I wouldn't recommend it anyway lmao; though I'd like to think I understood the gist of most the events/scenes! It was nice though as a Kud fan~)

Lastly, this is the second time I'm arranging this song. The first time I arranged this (~5 years ago), I didn't make sheets and just went to playing it straight in the piano. In fact, this is the only arrangement I made that actually played in piano. Even after forgetting most of my piano repertoire over the years, I still vaguely remember how to play this song, solely because it was something I made myself.

This arrangement is heavily influenced by how I played it before (particularly, the intro until the start of the 2nd verse, and the outro). Interestingly, I realized how much mistakes I made before in chord choices. A particular point I'm still unsure of is the phrase at 4:50-5:04. I don't think I caught the actual chords used and the cop-out would be to transpose what I used in the intro as they are the same, but I decided to keep it this way because I think it gives a different "flavor" to the song. Likewise, if you look carefully, you'll realize the chord progressions may not be identical despite being similar passages (e.g., other chorus vs. last chorus).

For my future projects, my current plans are short medleys of VN OSTs. Particularly in mind right now would be Atri and Summer Pockets. It might take a while for me to get them done since I have to go back to school (expect a month at best), but I hope it will help bring more people into reading Visual Novels and noticing the great soundtracks they have!
