Brugmansia (aka Angel’s Trumpet) is part of the deadly nightshade family, Solanaceae - although in fact, it’s not ALL so deadly.☠️

Solanaceae actually includes some of our food favorites like potatoes and tomatoes. 🥔 🍅

All parts of the plant are toxic if ingested, yet its dramatic, pendulous blooms and intoxicating evening fragrance have made it a favorite among gardeners, collectors, (and night pollinators!) alike.

It makes a stunning shrub-to-small tree. It's frost tender here in Northern California, but I have it planted against a south-facing wall.
