Dive Description:
This is fourth ROV dive of the Bioreactors cruise. Our goal is to collect quantitative video transects of distinct depth layers ranging from the surface to 1,500 meters. These video-based observations of animal communities from a ROV platform will accompany our net-based surveys and match their depth strata.

After completing these video-only transects, we will begin our assent to the surface and stop to collect animals along the way as time allows. At the beginning of the dive, we will need to calibrating the image area and arranging the lighting in the most optimal way for quantitative surveys. We will use the “jelly jars” and suction sampler to collect specimens. We may also use the niskin bottles to collect seawater at depths of interest.
