Before use Gold Leaf, WATCH THIS! Art Hack Using Adhesive you Already Have at Home 🙌🏻

I found an AWESOME Art Hack with Gold Leaf that will save you so much time and money!

Alright so what even is gold leaf. Gold leaf is just decorative and adds a little shimmer and glimmer to your painting or project. Its way prettier than the glitter paint because I still can’t make that stuff work.

Most of it is not actual gold, and what I have is definitely not gold because I got that stuff for 2.74 at Hobby Lobby when it was regular 10.99.

Its a very thin sheet and literally the wind will break it when you are transferring it from room to room. It comes in pages so you’ll get like 25 pages, I think on amazon you can get 100 sheets for 8.99, but I didn’t want to pay for shipping.

Before you use it, I would recommend covering your table because this stuff sticks to everything like I gold leafed the table accidentally, my phone, my husband; it was everywhere.

Here’s the thing, you are supposed to use a specific adhesive with this. Its called Adhesive Size or Gold Size. You can get it at hobby lobby or amazon. But here’s the deal, ya’ll know I roll cheap. So Hobby Lobby was out of their adhesive, so the lady told me to come back tomorrow night. Well there was a tornado afoot, so I was like well I wonder if I have anything around the house with which to adhere my gold leaf to the wood coaster.

I thought WAIT MOD PODGE. Surely that wouldn’t work right? WRONG worked like a charm. So if you have any mod lodge hanging around, try that and see what happens. And you can also seal with it.

So what I did was carefully take it out of its book and lay it on my coaster. Then I pressed it down with my fingers gently and waited for about thirty minutes. Then after that I took a brush and wiped away anything that wasn’t stuck and viola! Then I sealed it. I even did it on a clay pot and BAM worked perfectly.
