How do Coalescing Filters remove water from oil?

Описание к видео How do Coalescing Filters remove water from oil?

Coalescing filters basically operate on the same principle as water separability - make small water droplets connect and form large droplets which fall to the bottom of the reservoir faster.

With coalescing filters, we simply use an accelerator. For mechanical coalesces, this means a filter media that is oil-wet and prevents water from getting through, for electrostatics its about changing the shape and charge of water such that the droplets attract one another.

This is a really important technology for large hydraulic, turbine, compressor oil systems.
