Installing the 3rd generation Nest Thermostat

I thought it would be fun to film the installation process of our new Nest Thermostat. And, because my family has been enjoying the Amazon Echo Dot we started using last month, I was looking forward to having the ability to set the temperature without having to find my phone or go downstairs.

In the end, the installation process was not hard, other than the minor trouble that the provided screws were not long enough to tap into the blocking behind the wall board. I'm also not completely happy with the look of the white backing plate and may redo that at some point to have a more minimalist look.
