Today on this 2013 Mercedes Benz Sprinter Van, we're going to install part number 13358 from Curt. This is what the hitch looks like when it's installed on the Sprinter Van. Next we'll give you some measurements to help you out in selecting some accessories, such as a ball mount, a bicycle rack or a cargo carrier. From the top of the receiver opening down to the ground will be about 14 1/4 inches. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the edge of the bumper will be about 4 1/2 inches. Now we'll go ahead and show you how the hitch is installed. The first thing we need to do to get our van ready is to go ahead and reverse some bolts, which means is that these three bolts here, we're going to loosen them up one at a time and then put the bolt back through the opposite way.

These bolts hold the step bumper at the back here, so that why we want to do them one at a time. We'll go ahead and take our bolt out, we'll go ahead and loosen up the two remaining bolts on this side. That way it will give us some more flexibility to put the bolt back in. We won't take these out, just loosen them up and reinstall from the other side. We don't want it sticking out past the frame just yet. We'll repeat this for the other attachment points.

Now we'll take our new hardware that comes with the hitch and install it into the last hole that's available in the frame. We'll take the long bolt and the block and we'll install it from the inside towards the outside, just like the original bolts. Just like the other ones, we don't want it sticking out past the frame just yet. We're done with our passenger side, we'll go ahead and repeat the same thing on our driver's side. Now that all the hardware's in place, now it's a good idea to get an extra set of hands to help hold the hitch up and push the bolts back through the hitch. We'll go ahead and put our hitch up into position, we want to make sure that our hitch goes in the outside edge of the exhaust and then push it up.

We can go ahead and reinstall the factory nuts as well as a new flange nut for our bolt here. With all our hardware installed, now it's just a simple case of tightening down the bolts, then we'll torque the bolts down as specified in the instructions. We're done tightening down our driver's side, we'll go ahead and repeat the same process on our passenger side. With all the bolts tightened down, our hitch is fully installed. That will finish it for our install of part number 13358 from Curt on our 2013 Mercedes Benz Sprinter Van. .
