Child Death and Maternal Death( Death of child bearing

woman during pregnancy) are still a challenged to the health

system especially among the rural population of Meghalaya.

In West Jaintia Hills alone 16 maternal Deaths and 202 child deaths occurs during the year 2023 -24 alone due to

various reasons.

It has been found that many Child deaths and Maternal

deaths can be prevented by quality Antenatal Checkup alone.

Besides many other benefits the mother will deliver healthy

and strong (physically and mentally) babies with proper and

timely antenatal checkup.
