Exploring Abandoned Concrete City, Jim Thorpe PA, Coal Mine etc... (4k Insta360 Ace Pro)

Описание к видео Exploring Abandoned Concrete City, Jim Thorpe PA, Coal Mine etc... (4k Insta360 Ace Pro)

Early Saturday morning I met up with 2 friends from LCBC. After exploring Graffiti Bridge, No. 9 Coal Mine, and walking through Jim Thorpe PA, we went the train station.
Around 2:30 pm we bought 6:00 pm tickets for the Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway. At 3:00pm we left for Concrete City. After arrival at Concrete City at 4:00, we had a limited about of time to explore till we had to leave to catch the 6:00 train. However, I lost my tripod, and we wasted time running from building to building trying to find it. Eventually we gave up on my tripod and we raced through the woods and trail to my car. I drove as fast as possible to catch up some of the time, knowing that the traffic and parking conditions in Jim Thorpe PA would be a disaster.
Luckly, we found just the right spot and ran to make it on the train. The train left right after we got on.

𝔽𝕦𝕟 𝔽𝕒𝕔𝕥𝕤:
Concrete City in Nanticoke, Pennsylvania, consists of 20 duplex homes. These homes were built in 1911 by the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad for their employees. Each duplex was made entirely of concrete and designed to house two families.
It’s fascinating how this early 20th-century experiment in concrete housing has become such an intriguing ghost town today.
Interestingly, the Glen Alden Coal Company tried to demolish the homes in 1924, they used 100 sticks of dynamite, but the structures remained largely intact.
This land has been used in the past for firefighter and police training.

It’s so fascinating to explore creepy abandoned places like Concrete City from the safety of your phone, pc or tv. But nothing compares seeing it for yourself.
