The failure of the Indigenous Voice to Parliament referendum is a “devastating loss” for both Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and the Labor government, says Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell.

Mr Clennell's comments come after Australians voted to reject enshrining an Indigenous Voice in the constitution.

“It very much looks like a result of more than 60 to 40 for the No campaign,” Mr Clennell said.

“The Prime Minister gave a press conference last night in the wake of the result … and he said ‘look I was just delivering this request from Aboriginal leaders’.

“Without naming the Opposition Leader Peter Dutton it was clear that Anthony Albanese was seeking to blame him for the result.”
