The Australian Blueprint for
Career Development (the
Blueprint) is a framework
that can be used to
design, implement and
evaluate intentional career
development learning for
people of all ages and stages,
beginning in early childhood.

At its core, the Blueprint identifies
the knowledge, skills, and attitudes
that an individual needs to make
sound choices and effectively
manage their own career. In the
Blueprint, these are referred to as
career management competencies.

The primary aim of the Blueprint
is to enable career development
practitioners and others (e.g.
teachers, parents, employment
service providers, employers) who
provide some level of support for
people’s careers and transitions, to
work with a nationally consistent set
of career management competencies.

This will help all people living in
Australia to better manage their lives,
learning and work.
