Large meteor captured on Seattle traffic cameras!

On September 23rd, 2024 a (comparatively) large meteor was seen entering Earth's atmosphere and burning up. This event was seen by hundreds of people up and down the west coast, and I was able to spot it on 5 different traffic cameras.

As I mentioned in the video, I really like astronomy. I have very fond memories of my dad taking me out to watch meteor showers when I was a kid, and I loved the astronomy classes I took during college. A few years ago my wife and I visited the Goldendale observatory to look through their large scope, and I'm excited to share the night sky with my daughter as she gets older.
