The Ancient, Aramaic Kaddish Sung and Played to a Melody

Описание к видео The Ancient, Aramaic Kaddish Sung and Played to a Melody

This melody came to me one night before I was going to sing at a funeral years ago.
When I had learned of this ancient Jewish prayer I felt deeply connected to it, because it was mainly considered a mourner's prayer but the words were all of praise to God.

How amazing is it that the first thing this prayer recognizes in the midst of a tragedy is that God is good!
That's how Job prayed, that even when everything he cared for had been destroyed he said, "the LORD gives, the LORD takes away, praised be the name of the LORD".

We all know to praise during the good times but may we also learn to praise during the hard times.
So that at all times, we may learn to praise...

The English text reads:
"Glorified and sanctified be his Great Name, throughout the world, which He has created according to His will.
May He establish His Kingdom in your lifetime and during your days, and within the life of the whole House of Israel, even swiftly and soon; and say, Amen.
May His great name be praised forever and to all eternity. Blessed, praised, glorified and exalted, extolled, honored, adored and lauded be the name of the Holy One, blessed is He.
Though He be beyond all the blessings and hymns, praises and consolations which are ever uttered in the world and say; Amen.
May He who makes peace in his high holy places, may He bring peace upon us, and upon all Israel; and say Amen."
