DC Councilmember Trayon White faces allegations of $156K bribery

Federal officials lifted their silence on Sunday night's arrest of D.C. Councilmember Trayon White. The complaint alleges that beginning in June 2024, White, who represents Ward 8 in Southeast, agreed to accept $156,000 in cash payments in exchange for using his position on the council to pressure government employees at the Office of Neighborhood Safety and Engagement (ONSE) and the Department of Youth Rehabilitation Services (DYRS) for the renewal of several D.C. contracts.
