How To Avoid Harley Davidson First Gear Clunk Sound | 1st Gear Hard Engagement Fix?

Here I ask why is there the hard gear engagement on Harley Davidson motorcycles and how I think I fixed it but then realised it would sometimes happen and other times not. What is going on? There are several reasons why the ‘clunk’ happens but I’m looking for the definitive answer.
