Hot Air Intake (HAI) on a Mini Cooper S R53 JCW John Cooper Works using a custom K&N RU-1550 Filter

A controversial modification, where the airfilter is situated right in the hot air from the engine bay. But the idea behind this modification is the least amount of restriction in the intake, meaning less pressure drop = more power! This was tested on NAM (NorthAmericanMotoring) forum and the results where interesting. Side effect: louder supercharger whine, which is a good thing on a Mini Cooper S!

You need a universal K&N RU-1550 filter, a jubilee clamp and some rubber pieces. Thats about it...
