how to test manure & straw for herbicides (Grazon & Tordon 22K )

Описание к видео how to test manure & straw for herbicides (Grazon & Tordon 22K )

Farmers are spraying their fields with broadleaf herbicides called Grazon and Tordon 22K that contain the chemical picloram. This chemical stays active in our soils for 5 years. When an animal grazes on sprayed fields, the herbicide passes through the animal's digestive tract and into their poop. If we spread contaminated manure on our gardens or contaminated mulch in the form of straw, grass clippings or hay, we are passing this herbicide into our gardens and this will ruin our garden crops.

Grazon and Tordon 22K are extremely detrimental to legumes, tomatoes, potatoes, and basically anything else you'd like to grow to eat for yourself. We should not be allowing farmers to use such dangerous herbicides that have such a lasting impact on the health of our soils. These herbicides will also kill small mammals and contaminate our water sources.

If you are not 100% sure of where your mulch or manure came from, you should be testing it to make sure herbicides are not present before putting it on your garden.

In this video I show you an easy way to test manure and straw before using it in your garden.
