I’m extending our kitchen cabinets to the ceiling… on a budget! I wanted to add extra storage and elevate the look of our kitchen, but after getting a $1,500 quote for just one cabinet, I knew I had to DIY it instead.

In this video, I walk you through how I built and installed custom cabinet boxes (or “cubbies”) above our fridge and cabinets using half-inch plywood, pocket hole joinery, and trim to create a seamless, built-in look. The finishing touches—like crown molding and paint—made all the difference, and the best part? This entire project only cost me around $100!
