Making Rag Rug Pumpkins

I love the texture that fabric brings to little dollar store pumpkins. In this version I am using little rag rugs as my fabric source. If you have your own 'stash' of fabric pieces or old t-shirts hanging out in a rag bag then by all means use those! I am firmly in the use-what-you've-got camp but picking up these little rag rugs for $3.99 pretty much leaves me guilt-free in tearing them apart for crafts. (I picked mine up at JYSK - and I'm sure it was an end of season sale but I think their regular price was only $5.99. Still not bad. I didn't check but Ikea could be another easy source for these!)

Three different styles (and there are certainly more than I did... what about braiding the strands first, or perhaps just looping and twisting them? What if you curved them into a wave pattern or...) You get the idea... tons of possibilities to play with here... just make sure you have a big enough stash of the dollar store pumpkins to keep you going!
