1 lb ground chuck
1 small onion, diced
1/4 cup bread crumbs, seasoned
1 egg
1/4 cup parsley, chopped
salt & pepper to taste
2 Tbsp butter

Add ground chuck to a bowl. Add onion, parsley, egg, bread crumbs, salt and pepper. Combine well. Melt butter in a frying pan. Form meat mixture into patties. Fry until browned on both sides. Don’t worry about getting them done at this point. Remove from the pan and set aside. Make gravy. Return patties to the pan with the gravy. Let simmer for 45-60 minutes on a low simmer. If gravy gets too thick, add a little broth or water at a time.

Brown Gravy

2 Tbsp oil
2 Tbsp flour
2 Tbsp brown gravy mix
1 tsp roasted beef base
1 tsp roasted garlic base
1/4 tsp balsamic vinegar
2-3 cups beef broth *

Heat oil in a pan. Add flour and cook 2-3 minutes stirring constantly. Add brown gravy mix, beef bouillon, beef and garlic base, and balsamic vinegar, stirring well. Add beef broth until the right consistency, not too thick but not too thin.

* water can be substituted
