Alakh Pandey is planning to take his company, PhysicsWallah, public with an IPO worth ₹4,000 crores.

PhysicsWallah was started in 2020.

But now, it has surpassed startups like Byju’s and Unacademy.

Unacademy’s revenue dropped from ₹907 crores in 2024 to ₹840 crores, and Byju’s public image has also taken a significant hit.

However, PW’s revenue has grown threefold to around ₹2,000 crores.

Now, PhysicsWallah plans to raise ₹4,000 crores through an IPO in 2025.

To manage this IPO, they have enlisted the help of major companies like JP Morgan and Kotak Mahindra.

Looking at the company’s financial position, it is currently operating at a loss.

In FY23, PhysicsWallah’s operating revenue was ₹744 crores, which increased by 161% to ₹1,940 crores in FY24.

However, along with this growth, the company’s losses also increased 13 times, from ₹84 crores to ₹1,130 crores.
