We call this pretty bay mare, Koffee, and she is as smooth as that fresh cup of coffee on a cool fall morning! Koffee stands 15 hands and weighs roughly 1300 pounds. She is barefoot the whole way round, has the SWEETEST personality, and has the cutest little feminine head.
We have owned Koffee for 5 years now and have enjoyed every minute with her. She is the first to greet you in the pasture, and will lope off from the herd just to come see what you are up to. She is a people pleaser and is truly a pleasure to be around. Koffee would decently excel as a ranch rider, western riding, or ranch halter if you are someone who likes to show!
Koffee is very soft and supple in the bridle, responsive to your seat and legs, and is a breeze to pilot. She has a smooth trot that is soft enough for you to sit. Squeeze her into a true rocking chair lope with a gorgeous naturally level headset. Ride her in a halter, bridle, hackmore, or with just a string around her neck, she will operate like a fine tuned car! She really is a mare who commands attention when she moves!
Whether you want to ride the trails, or use her on the ranch, Koffee has seen it all! She has cruised the barrel pattern and been hauled to town to see the lights and the sights. She has drug a million calves in the branding pen, and is SO fun on the trails. She can ride in a group or off on her own with zero issues. She isn’t one to whinny or get riled up when her pals leave. She is happy to be out and about with you, regardless of the scenery. Koffee is used to hopping off the trailer at daylight, leaving the herd at a trot, and gathering pairs solo in massive pastures. She is no stranger to a long day!
We have had older kids on her and she took the very best care of them! She would be a fantastic step up horse for a kiddo ready to advance from their old faithful, to a fancier ride. She is not a speed demon but not one you have to constantly kick to keep moving forward. Koffee packed me in two feet of snow (see photos) after three months off, no warmup needed, when I was 32 weeks pregnant and never took a bad step. I TRUST this mare that much! I wouldn’t hesitate to finish my ride with her then plop the kids on her to cruise around! She is so kind, so willing, and truly is one heck of a fancy ride!
That said on two occasions in 5 years, she has felt a little funky fresh. Her “fresh” is hardly notable…she can barely stir up a skiff of dust…but a little frog hop is there on a very rare occasion and we want no surprises for her new owners! We are, above all else, open and honest and we want her to succeed in her new home!
Jog her a couple circles, and she is plum ready to go and will be the BEST most reliable ride you have the entire day! It is a rarity that she is feeling fresh, and we never do lunge her or do anything special, we just pull the cinches tight, and ease her off with zero issues. We stand behind her 100% and KNOW you will adore this mare!
Should you ever leave her off and just want a quick tune up, bring her back to us and we will spend two weeks for FREE, just dust the cobwebs off, give her a quick refresher, and have her ready to go come spring! We are THAT in love with Koffee and what nothing but the PERFECT family for her!
