WTF Happened to Pee-wee's Big Adventure?

On July 30th, the great Paul Reubens passed away after a long, private battle with cancer. As a tribute to the late genius, we decided to dig into arguably his most lasting work, 1985’s Pee-wee’s Big Adventure. This movie introduced his most memorable character, Pee-wee Herman, to a larger audience, leading to a whole industry around the character that included TV shows, sequel films, and so much more. It also marked the first feature film for director Tim Burton and his go-to composer, Danny Elfman, who was then best known as the lead singer of the new wave band Oingo Boingo.
