5 Sacred Shravan Vrat 🪔

In the Dharma Shastras and Puranas, a Vrat is described as inner Tapasya offering one’s ego, desires, and restlessness into the fire of discipline.

In Shravan, five main vrats are observed:

1. Somvar Vrat – to strengthen the inner mind.
Dates : July 14, 21, 28, Aug 4

2. Pradosh Vrat – for karmic cleansing
Dates : 22nd July & 6th Aug

3. Shravan Shivratri – for deep spiritual evolution
Date : July 23

4. Mangala Gauri Vrat – to receive Devi’s blessings
Dates : July 15, 22, 29, Aug 5

5. Naag Panchami Vrat – to honour serpent energies
Date : July 29

🥗 Basic Fasting Guidance:

• On the day before the Vrat, eat before sunset and keep the meal light and sattvic.

• On the day of Vrat, observe Phalahar—fruits, alkaline vegetables, herbal teas, and water.

• After sunset or puja, break the fast with a light and simple meal.
