The Maha Kumbh is being held after 144 years at the confluence of the three rivers Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati at the Prayag Sangam in Allahabad. Here, the Madhyabeni Ganga, Yamuna Ganga are joined by the Yamuna River from the east and the Saraswati River is joined by the Saraswati River from the west. This year's Maha Kumbh is being held at the confluence of these three rivers. Similarly, the Ganga flows for 2,500 kilometers, crosses the Farakka Barrage and enters West Bengal, and after entering the Hooghly district, the Yamuna and Saraswati rivers are similarly freed from the Ganges/Hooghly/Bhagirathi. This Saraswati River is also a very ancient river. Saptagram port was located on the banks of this river, although the Saraswati River can be found at its source, but this river has not been found for some time. The river passes through Tribeni, Saptagram, Singur, Baksa, Chanditala, Vittar and meets the Hooghly River again near Sankrail. On the other hand, the Yamuna River cannot be found for the first 10 kilometers from its source. Then this river is visible again. The first AIIMS hospital in the state has also been built on the banks of this river. The Yamuna River is about 118 kilometers long. After originating from Tribeni, it crosses the river and enters North 24 Parganas, passes Gaighata, Ichapur, Gobardanga, and near the city where the river forms, it joins the Ichamati River. Just as the Saraswati and Yamuna rivers joined the main stream of the Ganges at the Prayag confluence of Allahabad, that Beni is called the Yukt Beni. Similarly, after entering the Ganges and Hooghly districts, the Saraswati and Yamuna rivers are free from the Bhagirathi, that Beni is called the Mukta Beni. This year's Banga Kumbh Mela is being held in this Mukta Beni. This Tribeni of Bengal is as sacred as Allahabad Prayag to Hinduism. So this year's Banga Kumbh Mela is being held on both banks of the Ganges. However, the rivers on which such a big fair is organized (be it Mahakumbh or Banga Kumbh) are being lost today. Saraswati is being lost due to garbage on both banks. The river has been lost due to forcible encroachment. Although the Yamuna river has been renovated, it is being reoccupied again. The source no longer has any connection with the Bhagirathi. As a result, water no longer flows in any way. The Yamuna has become a closed water body in regional waters. Our main goal on our channel is to renovate, preserve, and present the lost rivers and water bodies of Bengal to the next generation, and above all, to combat global warming. In an effort to present the river and wetlands to the next generation, even if we cannot do it in reality, at least as history, we are recording them on this YouTube or Google page.
