“What’s Going On” by Marvin Gaye - Performed by Stu Harrison on Kawai K300 Aures

Introduction:

As odd as this is to see - an acoustic piano generating a Rhodes Stage Piano tone - it’s an excellent example of how beautifully the digital components on this K300 Aures have been integrated to create a seamless playing experience regardless of whether in silent mode or acoustic mode.

Stu’s engaged the silent feature and selected the E-Piano sound (i.e. Rhodes) which is coming into the video direct (no mic’s).

The Aures series is remarkable because instead of attaching speakers to the piano, it uses 4 transducers (magnets) to power the piano’s soundboard itself. The effect is genuinely awesome, and the Rhodes sound specifically you just have to play it yourself to experience it. It actually sounds and feels like you’re behind a full Stage with Cabinet Speaker...truly astounding!
