Sub Up, Port Back, Kerfed Slot Port Stained Plywood Subwoofer Box

The very long awaited build by many is finally live and direct! The double baffled plywood top mounted subwoofer box with kerfed L ports and kerfed front baffle. Made out of a very expensive Santa Clara marine plywood, exclusively sold at Wilcon Home Depot.

This is a single 12 inch enclosure for the huge Category 7 CSW12-1K XMAX subwoofer! The magnet of this subwoofer is literally almost the diameter of the cutout and weighs about 20 kilos. This enclosure features a kerfed port, and another kerf on the front panel corner, double layered baffle including flush mount, and a beautiful custom dark stain.

Finished the box with very dark oak oil wood stain and topped it off with polyurethane varnish to protect the subwoofer enclosure from all kinds of elements.

I am glad I hit the appropriate final tuning and impedance for the box which is 30.24Hz @ 1.51 Ohms on the Dayton Audio DATS v3 and has an acceptable effective bandwidth of 23Hz to 46Hz range.

All panels were screwed down the pocket holes for the upper panel to make them invisible. Lower panel is screwed the traditional way because no one can see the screw heads down below the box.

Assembly time and here goes lugging the very heavy Category 7 CSW12-1K XMAX! The monster of a subwoofer weighs about 20 kilograms, yes that heavy.

I think that is all for today's little show and I hope you all like this project. Let me know what you think by commenting down in the comment section. Thanks and have a nice weekend to all of you.
