Résumé
Les récents progrès technologiques dans le domaine moléculaire, tels qu'un outil de modulation de l'activité des neurones, permettent aux scientifiques de découvrir le rôle spécifique de certains neurones associés à la douleur. Cet outil est utilisé comme interrupteur pour activer ou inhiber les neurones qui passent dans la moelle épinière de la colonne vertébrale afin de mieux comprendre la douleur.

Abstract
Recent technological advances in molecular tools, such as a modulator of neuronal activity, allow scientists to uncover the role of specific of pain neurons. This tool is used as a switch in the spinal cord to activate or inhibit neurons and understand the functioning of the sensation of pain.

Biographie : Originaire de Calgary, Haoyi Qiu poursuit un baccalauréat en physiologie et en mathématiques à l’Université McGill. Fervente de poursuivre son apprentissage en dehors des activités académiques de base, elle a décidé d’entreprendre un projet de recherche sur les mécanismes physiologiques responsables du traitement des douleurs neuropathiques provenant de la colonne vertébrale.

Biography: Originally from Calgary, Haoyi Qiu is pursuing a bachelor's degree in physiology and mathematics at McGill University. Eager to continue her learning outside of her classrooms, she decided to undertake a research project focusing on the physiological mechanisms responsible for treating neuropathic pain originating in the spine.
