Documented by Pontiac Historical Service. This is one of only 3,108 Trans-Ams made, less than half of those were equipped with the automatic. This one has had a body off frame restoration. I personally drove it home, it handled and performed really well.

EXTERIOR: Clean, straight body. No rust or damage. The panels fit square. The rubber bumper fits nice and is not damaged. The Cameo white paint is polished smooth and glossy. The shaker hood scoop is painted blue and has functional flapper. It has correct blue decal stripes in excellent shape. New 15x8 rally ll wheels. The reproduction Firestone Wide Oval tires look like bias ply but have radial technology. The grills and headlight bezels are excellent. The rear bumper and taillights are very nice. Window seals look new. Weatherstrips are very good.

INTERIOR: I love the bright blue interior, it really gives it some pop. It's been restored very nicely. The carpets were replaced and it has new embroidered floor mats. It has it's complete set of original seat belts. The upholstery, door panels, headliner are very good. Dome light works. The machine turned instrument panel is very nice with a complete set of rallye gauges. The formula cushion grip steering wheel is on a tilt column. The AM-FM stereo has been rebuilt, it has an auxiliary plug and 6x9 speakers.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The period correct 400 motor has stock manifolds, valve covers and air cleaner assembly. Features include air conditioning, power steering and power brakes. Everything looksclean and proper.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Solid metal that's been spatter painted. It has a collapsible spare tire with an original jack and air bottle. The trunk mat and weatherstrip have been replaced.

UNDERSIDE: It has been body off the frame restored. The front suspension and steering has been completely rebuilt- bushings, ball joints, springs etc. All four shocks are upgraded with Bilstein gas shocks. It has a correct exhaust system with transverse muffler and stainless polished tips. The fuel system was replaced including the tank, straps, insulators, sending unit and fuel lines. The brake system was restored, it has discs up front and the e-brake assembly is hooked up. Looking up at the motor it is clean. It has a correct 1970 Turbo 400 automatic transmission, custom aluminum driveshaft and a 12 bolt rear end. The floors are clean metal, they were prepped and painted the original red oxide primer.

It was my pleasure driving this Trans Am. These cars have that muscle car sound and power with sportscaster like handling. It's also a rare treat just to see one of these cars. This one is exceptionally nice, better than most that still survive today.

I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle.
Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail.
**These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car make an appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded and you will be given a 1 year membership.
