Mouthpiece buzzing, buzzing lips (a.k.a. free-buzzing), or buzzing of any type is a controversial topic in the trumpet community. I'm not really sure why because I believe that it does not need to be an either - or mentality. Mouthpiece buzzing has benefits. Not buzzing the mouthpiece also has benefits. We will talk about this topic a little more over time.
