On day 5 of this incredible journey, I joined a corporate-organised tour through a vibrant Vietnamese wet market, followed by a hands-on Vietnamese cooking class—a first for me!

Cooking authentic Vietnamese dishes with a group brought a fresh, exciting energy to my trip. The sights, sounds, and flavours of the market reignited my passion for travel, and as you’ll see in the video, it was an emotional moment that reminded me why solo travel for Gen X women is so rewarding.

After 20 years of travelling, I’ve learned that travel isn’t about ticking boxes or routines—it’s about the privilege of experiencing new people, places, and cultures that continuously inspire and move me.
