The Hydronium Ion

It's pretty much universally known that Chemists are lazy. Also, general chemistry professors lie a lot (or at the very least bend the truth). One of these half-truths is the idea that hydrogen ions exist in solution. In reality, Hydrogen ions are the currency of acid-base reactions and hydronium ions exist in solution. Hydronium Ions are also responsible for creating an acidic pH.
