In the Cambodian capital, Phnom Penh, Thanin Chan and his team are using drone technology to monitor the trash that is polluting many of Cambodia’s most important waterways.

The World Bank Group is working with more than 40 countries to reduce single-use plastic usage, prevent pollution and increase circularity. In East Asia Pacific, we’re working with ASEAN, and governments across the region, to end the use of single-use plastics, drive plastic recycling, reduce plastic leakage, as well as working with some of the region’s biggest companies to push for circular economy business models by investing in sustainable materials and packaging, and climate-smart waste management.
