Updated Hull Trains Train Fleet:    • Hull Trains Train Fleet | Current, Pa...

Current and future Hull Trains train fleet. Hull Trains (operated by First Group) is an open access operator which operate several return trips each day along the East Coast Main Line (ECML) between London Kings Cross and Hull with limited extensions to Beverley. Hull Trains have one of the smallest train fleets in the country.

Currently Hull Trains operate just 1 class of train.
The current Hull Trains train fleet consists of 5 class 802/3 Paragon units. These 5 carriage trains are IET trains similar to those used with LNER, GWR and Trans PennineExpress. All 5 of these units are bi mode meaning they can operate on both diesel and electric power which is required on all Hull Trains services as the route is only electrified between London and Doncaster. Each 5 carriage set has 3 standard, 1 first and 1 first/standard carriage which means there are 284 standard and 43 first class seats per 5 carriage train.
In the past Hull Trains have operated class 170 Turbostar, class 222 Meridian, class 180 Adelante and InterCity 125 sets. Most of Hull Trains previous train fleets have moved to other operators and it is planned that the new class 802 will remain with Hull Trains for quite a few years. The class 180 units they replaced were very unreliable which is partly why newer rolling stock was required for Hull Trains as well as providing additional capacity on the route.

All information is correct as of August 2021.
