This phase is all about reducing knee pain and swelling from surgery. The flow-on is gaining knee extension as a priority and knee flexion as a secondary movement. Focus on moving muscles with small, slow movements loading the muscles and not the knee joint. Gaining good co-contraction of quads, glutes and hamstrings control will lead to unassisted steer walking.

The ACL manual has further information and a pain diary to plot your pain levels over the month to ensure they are reducing as you rehab. There is also a monthly planner for you to plan out your training.
