Ariel Adams of aBlogtoWatch reviews the recently debuted Casio G-Shock MTGB2000YBD1, a newer, lighter iteration of the previous generation MTGB2000D-1A. The new MTGB2000YBD1 features dark gray-coated steel and a combination of carbon elements via its sophisticated Carbon Core Guard case structure, glass fiber, and Casio’s own resin blends to achieve an impressively light overall weight of 131 grams on bracelet. Inside the 49.8mm-wide angular case (15.9mm thick, 55.1mm lug-to-lug) is Casio’s Tough Solar movement, which offers an atomic clock radio receiver, two 12-hour dials for the time on the watch face, along with dual AM/PM indicators, a perpetual calendar system, stopwatch, alarms, and a world timer. An optional Bluetooth connection to the G-Shock smartphone app allows for convenient access to all of the watch’s features. Over the deep gray and red-accented analog dial is a domed and AR-coated sapphire crystal, while the case is water-resistant to 200 meters and can be easily thrown around as G-Shock timepieces can. Pricing for the Casio G-Shock MTGB2000YBD1 is $1,200 USD. Find out more at https://www.gshock.com.
