We start the problem by computing the flight time for a projectile launched horizontally across a gap. Because the x velocity is constant in projectile motion, the calculation is as simple as solving distance=rate*time for time, and we find the flight time for the projectile.

Next, we use the kinematics equation y=y_0+v_0y*t+1/2*a*t^2 to compute the final y coordinate after the flight time we computed in the first part, and using a=-9.8m/s^2.
