sorrow - original composition (violin & piano)

I wrote this piece in 2008 when I was 17, it started as a piano solo but i felt it needed more so I wrote a melody for a clarinet to go on top. Having sent a recording of this to my friend who plays the violin he asked me to arrange a version for violin and piano and we recorded it together. I'll upload the original clarinet version if people would like that. :) . I feel like Rachmaninov influenced me here and i listened to Mozart's clarinet concerto to get an idea of how to write for one.

John Bettley was one of my music teachers at school he inspired me and many others to make wonderful music and sadly in my last year of school he got run over while crossing a road. when i heard the news i went and took out all my feelings on my piano and this is the result. hope you enjoy listening.
