DIY Patio Part2 - Framing Roof

Concrete floor spans a total of 35 feet along the house

Patio roof only spans up to 32 feet to properly fit 4 4x8 boards across


Concrete floor extends out about 10 feet from the house
Patio roof is 11 feet and 6 inches from the house


Rafters are 2x6, 24 inch on center

Outside rafters are 2x8 fascia boards


Middle horizontal beam is 4x8 and 10 feet long

Outer beams are 4x8 and 12 feet long,

extending beyond the length of the roof

Posts are 4x6, 85 inches (7 feet and 1 inch) tall

They are positioned 10 feet apart on center


Bottom of my ledger board is 99 inches

(8 feet and 3 inches) from the concrete

The top of the beam where the rafters sit on is 92 inches

(7 feet and 8 inches from the concrete)


This would be a .5/12 pitch, low slope roof

Material costs for this project
$350 for concrete and delivery
$600 for all the lumber used
$600 for all the roofing materials (2 base sheet rools and 4 cap rolls)
