Rather than replace the whole pulley or tensioner assembly I replace just the failing bearing on the tensioner pulley of my 2012 Subaru Outback 3.6R.

I use a socket and careful tapping with a hammer to “press” the bearing without a press.

Tools Used:

Remove Air intake clips
• Slotted Screwdriver

Remove/replace belt and tensioner pulley
• 15" x 3/8" breaker bar https://amzn.to/2RnfJMs
• 14mm socket
• Torque Wrench

Remove and install bearings:
• Hammer
• 13/16" impact socket
• 1" impact socket
