BEGUMPET POLICE NABBED DACOITY GANG – FIVE ACCUSED ARRESTED WITHIN 24 HOURS

The Begumpet Police detected two dacoity cases within 24 hours by arresting four accused and one CCL of a six-member gang involved in night-time assaults and extortion near Parade Grounds.

1. Cr. No. 441/2025 U/s 310(2) BNS – Begumpet P.S.

Sri A. Kalyan, aged 20 years, Canteen Worker at Venkataramana Theatre, Kachiguda, residing at Fisherpura, Picket, Maredpally, Hyderabad.

He stated that on 03.11.2025 at about 12.00 midnight, after completion of his duty, he along with his colleague Tarun started to his residence. They reached Secunderabad Railway Station around 00.50 hours, where his friend Gopi came to pick them up on a Honda Activa. When they reached near Clock Tower, the petrol in the vehicle got exhausted. Thereafter, the complainant and his colleague began walking towards home while Gopi pushed the vehicle ahead.

When they reached near Metro Pillar No. 918 towards JBS Bus Stand at 01.20 hours, one auto carrying six persons stopped in front of them. The occupants suddenly alighted, assaulted the complainant with hands, and demanded money. Out of fear, Tarun fled the spot. One among the assailants forcibly took ₹8,500/- cash from the complainant’s pocket and fled away in the same auto towards JBS side.

2. Cr. No. 442/2025 U/s 310(2) BNS – Begumpet P.S.

Sri Gulfam Ansari, aged 24 years, Hair Stylist, residing at Prakash Nagar, Begumpet, and native of Rampur District, Uttar Pradesh.

He stated that on 02.11.2025 at about 9:30 PM, while waiting for a bus at Parade Ground Bus Stop to go to his friend’s house at Trimulgherry, six unknown persons surrounded him, threatened him with a knife, and forcibly snatched ₹6,000/- cash, a Fire-Bolt black wristwatch, and also transferred ₹1,500/- from his PhonePe account. The gang also assaulted him on his face, stomach, and head, causing visible injuries, and fled away from the scene.

Due to fear and being a non-local, he did not report the matter immediately. On the next day, he informed his salon owner, Mr. Martin, who accompanied him to the police station to lodge the complaint.

MODUS OPERANDI:

All six accused are friends and residents of Mudfort, Sikh Village, and Picket areas of Secunderabad. They are habitual drinkers, frequently gathering at Central Wines, Bowenpally. On the evening of 03.11.2025, after consuming alcohol, they hatched a plan to commit dacoities and extort money from innocent persons moving at night. As per their plan, they used an auto belonging to accused Rajesh and committed both offences within Begumpet limits.

1. Vannam Rajesh (18), Auto Driver, R/o Mudfort, Sikh Village, Kharkhana, Secunderabad (Auto belongs to him)


2. Boya Narasimha (18), GHMC Garbage Lifting Worker, R/o Mudfort Huts, Sikh Village, Secunderabad.


3. Boorvathi Karthik (18), Labourer, R/o Picket, JBS.


4. Parshuram (20), Labourer, R/o Mudfort, Secunderabad. (Knife used in the offence recovered from his possession)


5. CCL



Absconding:
6. Shiva, R/o Mudfort, Secunderabad.

Knuckle duster from the possession of Narsimha

Knife recovered from the possession of accused Parshuram

POLICE TEAM:

The case was swiftly detected and the accused persons apprehended under the close supervision of Sri Gopala Krishna Murthy, ACP Begumpet Division, and Sri P. Saidulu, Inspector of Police, Begumpet P.S.
The operation was led by Sri G. Srinivas, Detective Inspector, assisted by DSI K. Sachidanandam, PCs Satish, Mahesh, Ajju, Ashok, and Harish, who swiftly identified and apprehended the accused.
