Описание к видео BCIT Centre for Architectural Ecology – current Master’s student projects

Dr. Maureen Connelly gives a quick overview of three exciting student projects currently happening at BCIT’s Centre for Architectural Ecology:

Project 1: acoustical performance of window fixtures. We are preparing a new wall insert and window specimen for sound testing. This is Joyce's Mater of Engineering project with support from industry including windows manufacturer (EuroLine Windows), shutters and other window inserts companies. We also got lots of help from great friends, including student and staff from the Carpentry department.

Project 2: intensity probe testing for noise reduction of existing versus new windows. Neha is doing this as part of an investigation involving a whole-building window retrofit at our lovely shingles building (NE3, Burnaby campus).

Project 3: acoustical and air quality effects of indoor living walls. This is Sepideh's Master of Applied Science project. She is planting 15m2, 525kg of living wall panels (a proprietary system!) in preparation for her research tests; this is a multi-institution project: the wall panels will be moved to the CIRS Building atrium at UBC and tested there to see how they effect the space!

Joyce Mak, Neha Arora and Sepideh Daneshpanah are graduate students from the BCIT Master Programs in Building Science/Building Engineering.

We have many, many other exciting student projects covering a wide range of topics in building acoustics, living architecture and building science. This is just a glimpse!

We'd love to hear your questions and comments.
