Once, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Sant Tukaram were saved from Mughals Attack while performing The Kirtan were saved by Lord Krishna.

Hare Krishna,

Once, during Ekadasi day, Tukaram was performing Hari kirtan with Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and a small gathering of people.
In the meantime, Mughal soldiers heard about the whereabouts of Shivaji and a big troop of around 2000 soldiers came to attack him.
They surrounded the house in, which the bhajans were being performed and didn’t let anyone go in or come out of the house.
The informers of chhatrapati shivaji maharaj came and whispered about the situation to him.
Hearing this Shivaji Mahara was greatly worried and one of his bodyguards asked Tukaram if they should leave now.
Tukaram then told him that no one should leave till the kirtan is over. The holy name of Krishna is most important, and nothing should halt a pious kirtan of sweet names of hari.
No one should worry, for krishna is the protector of his devotees and lord of the universe. So just enjoy chanting the glories of krishna and the kirtan must go on.

Hearing this Shivaji sat down and continued to listen to the abhangs.
He thought to himself that none other than Vitthal can save him now and if he doesn’t, he would be fortunate to die on an ekadasi day listening to abhangs of Sant Tukaram and in the company of sadhus and saints who are so sincere devotee of lord shri krishna.

Then, One of the Muslim spies sneaked inside the house to check if Shivaji Maharaj was there but couldn’t find him.
He went back to his commander and told him that he couldn’t recognize which one of them was Shivaji.
On hearing this, the commander told him to get in and kill as many people as possible and in that way they would definitely kill Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj as well.

But how can anything happen to those who are in the shelter of Krishan. Krishna is always ready to protect His devotees! The same Krishna himself states in Bhagavad Geeta.

So, Lord Krishna then, immediately took the form of Shivaji and came out of the house, on a horse.
He then started riding his horse.

The Mughal soldiers who saw this started chasing him, but no one was able to catch him.

The army was chasing him for several hours and finally they had travelled to a jungle about 40 miles trying to catch Krishna who took the form of Shivaji.
Then Krishna suddenly disappeared and the Mughal soldiers blamed one another for not being able to catch Shivaji.
The commander just could not understand how an army of 2000 soldiers could not catch one person.
Vitthal then came and whispered to Tukaram on what had happened and asked him to continue his abhangs without any fear.

"If we are actually situated in Kṛṣṇa consciousness, under the shelter of Kṛṣṇa's lotus feet, then , very heaviest type of danger may be before us—but we shall not be disturbed. Or anyone who has taken the shelter like that, he will never be disturbed.
This material world is full of dangers at every step, but a devotee has no fear because devotional service is so auspicious that it automatically counteracts all kinds of bad luck.

In Bhagwat Gita Lord Krishna tells Arjuna to always have faith in Him only as, whosoever, keeps faith in Lord Krishna, He always protects that devotee.

Even though Arjuna was not well-equipped, still he was saved. Because Kṛṣṇa is there. And even if one is well-equipped and if Kṛṣṇa does not like to save him, he'll not be saved. Always mind this.
Rakṣe kṛṣṇa mare ke, mare kṛṣṇa rakṣe ke. This is a fact, that if Kṛṣṇa wants to kill you, nobody can save you. And if Kṛṣṇa wants to save you, nobody can kill you.
