Cat Chat: The Official Podcast of the Springfield City School District celebrates the best of the SCSD -- the successes of our current students and staff, as well as our alumni who are making positive impacts both locally and nationally. Cat Chat also seeks to share with its viewers valuable community resources from our partners who strengthen our District through their shared sense of vision for our students.

In this episode of Cat Chat:
•Corinna Jackson, SHS Freshman + Previous Do the 'Write' Thing Winner: Our Cat Den Happenings Guest, Corinna Jackson, speaks about a special program for SCSD middle school students, Do the 'Write' Thing. DtWT is a national writing competition that encourages young people to write about how violence has affected their lives and how students have the power to end violence in their communities. Corinna was a winner of the competition last year and shares more about her experience.

•Thomas Edwards: Our Featured Alumni Thomas Edwards (Springfield High School Class of 2021) talks about how his teachers at SHS and his experiences catapulted him into his current role as a TikTok content producer for the Empire State Building in New York City. Thomas has the opportunity to meet several notable celebrities on a daily basis, and he has made several pieces of content that have gone viral.

•Kaitlyn Tyler, Greater Springfield Partnership: The Community Connections segment wraps up the show with Kaitlyn Tyler from the Greater Springfield Partnership, who shares more about how GSP and the SCSD work together to bring dozens of career opportunities to SCSD students. GSP is prioritizing keeping our workforce, including our young people, here in Clark County!
