AID CLIMB up a Bolt Ladder with no Specialized Gear -- ROCK CLIMBING MENTOR SERIES

Описание к видео AID CLIMB up a Bolt Ladder with no Specialized Gear -- ROCK CLIMBING MENTOR SERIES

In this edition of the Respect the Risk Rock Climbing Mentor Series you will learn to Aid Climb up bolt ladders with no specialized gear. This video covers that situation where you are on a predominantly free sport climb that features a short aid ladder on bolts. It shows how to make etriers from shoulder length slings, a make-shift "cow's tail" or aid climber's "daisy chain" from gear you would normally have along on any multi pitch sport climb. Most importantly, it shows how to use the gear to get between bolts in an efficient fashion. The video footage was taken on Ballista which is an 8 pitch sport climb on Tunnel Mountain that has a short bolt ladder on Pitch 7. The route Heart Line on Heart Mountain is also a bolted 17 pitch alpine climb that has a short bolt ladder on it. The tactics can be used on such climbs so as to not carry a lot of extra weight up a route where the specialized aid equipment would only be used on one short section.

Special thanks to Cam Deller who was very patient while i did the camera work and commentary on this video.
