In Veracruz, Mexico, a team of six students from the Centro Universitario Latino de Veracruz (CEULVER) has developed Proyecto Mantarraya, one of Mexico’s first piloted drones designed specifically for emergency rescues. This innovative aerial vehicle is built to operate in dangerous conditions, such as fires, using a harness system to safely transport people to safety.

Led by professors Victor Manuel de Jesus Leyva Negrete and Edith Martinez Leo, the students focused on creating an affordable, easy-to-assemble drone that can be replicated worldwide. Their goal is to make this life-saving technology accessible for rescue missions globally, with plans to release the design for free.
