Blender 2.79 has a hidden gem of an ability. Combined with Current Cache to Bake, you can use this live interactive physics in your animations. Auto-Stop Free helps you record a great performance while keeping the volatile cache safe until you can bake it. During playback, you can transform ANY rigid body physics object even if it's not set to "Animated". Right mouse click to cancel the transform. This will transform your object in the physics space, throwing it, spinning, or even scaling it. Cancelling prevents object transforms from getting in your way when you restart the animation.
