In this video I show you what Romanian food to eat and where to eat it in Bucharest. If you ever go to Romania, you must try these insanely delicious dishes!

Sarmale are Romanian cabbage rolls. If you ask a Romanian about traditional dishes, this dish would most likely be the first that comes to mind. Sarmale are traditonally served at large celebrations, but you can still get it at restaurants throughout the year. Sarmale are almost always served with polenta, or mamaliga, which is a type of porridge made out of cornmeal. The perfect side dish.

Mici are probably the most popular Romanian grill dish and in contrast to Sarmale, relatively easy to make which make them the perfect street food. Mici can be found not only at simple grills, but also at fancy restaurants and grocery stores.

Papanasi are the delicious Romanian dessert similar to doughnuts.

There is more to the Romanian cuisine than these dishes - it's rich and diverse, but prioritize these foods. However, visiting Bucharest, don't only eat. There are an abundance of things to do and experience - Bucharest is beautiful and historic: Palace of the Parliament, Bucharest Old Town and Cismigiu Park should be on your list to name a few.
